United Methodist Neighborhood Services will give away hot Thanksgiving meals on Saturday, Nov. 20, as part of its ongoing service to Philadelphia communities. UMNS has been building a relationship with Dignity Housing in Germantown, which since 1988 has been providing housing and other support to homeless families and single adults to help them break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. UMNS will receive up to 40 Thanksgiving hot meals donated by a Dignity Housing partner agency to distribute at Mid-Town Parish UMC’s monthly food distribution on Saturday, Nov. 20, in North Philadelphia.

UMNS, located at Janes Memorial UMC, 47 E. Haines Street, Phila., will also give away Thanksgiving baskets curbside, including turkeys with trimmings, on Tuesday, Nov. 23, aided by St. Matthew’s UMC of Valley Forge. In addition, they will continue their annual Christmas baskets giveaway in December. “We are grateful for the continued support of UM Women, individuals and churches.” Check out UMNS’s new brochure on its informative webpage.
